Agnus Dei

When it is not possible to convey the purity and the glory of the Body of Christ, the Lamb of God with words alone, they need to be accompanied by music.  In this blogger's opinion, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Krönungsmesse  (Coronation Mass) in C-major, KV 317, conducted by Bertrand de Billy, performed by Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, with members of the Vienna Boys' Choir and soloists had accomplished just that with their outstanding performance of Agnus Dei. [1]  Below is the prayer in Latin and in English [2]:

Agnus Dei qui tollis peccata mundi,
miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei qui tollis peccata mundi,
miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei qui tollis peccata mundi,
dona nobis pacem. 

Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world,
have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world,
have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world,
grant us peace.

For those who would like more celestial music while they are absorbing the full meaning of the Body of Christ into every cell of their entire being upon returning to their pews after receiving the Eucharist, Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus, KV 618, would probably not disappoint.  The performance by the Vienna Boys' Choir that was a part of the performance of Mozart's Krönungsmesse  (see above) is heavenly.
